Dr. Denton Cooley, the first cardiac surgeon to perform an implant of an artificial heart reached out to Dr. Now during his surgical training in 1976 in Nashville. Dr. Denton had observed him Dr Now performing a heart operation but he hid Denton’s invite and moved to Houston where he did his cardiovascular fellowship at the Texas Heart Institution in Houston.

Meanwhile, Dr Now is best known for his role as the resident surgeon in My 600-Ib Life. The show first aired in February 2012 and since then he has been featured in every season of the show.

Aside from his surgical works Dr Younan Nowzaradan has published journals and books, his research publications focus primarily on obesity and laparoscopy.

No, the weight loss surgeon is currently not married but was initially married to Delores Ann McRedmond. The ex-couple tied the knot in 1975 and divorced in 2002 after a 27-year marriage.
