ECG publishes another ”Dumsor” timetable beginning 27th May to 11th June

The Electricity Company of Ghana has published another timetable for disruption of power locally termed as ‘dumsor’ in parts of Accra.

Not long ago, a temporary load-shedding exercise, which was scheduled from 3 May 2021 to 17th May 2021, formed part of planned activities to allow technicians to integrate a new power substation into the national grid.

The 15 days dumsor which affected residents of Kasoa and its environs was used to work on the new power substation and also to monitor and fix any hitches that may arise.

According to the company in a new press statement, the power interruption is purposely for improvement of the system at the Kasoa Bulk Supply Point (BSP).

“As part of projects to improve power supply reliability and system voltage, the Electricity Campany of Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) will undertake interruption in power supply to facilitate to work of contractors at various stages and times.”

The statement further indicated that the improvement of the system will begin from Thursday, 27th May to June 11, 2021, indicating a total of 16 working days.

It added that power will be interrupted between the hours of 6 pm and 12 midnight each day.
