Edward Asare is one of the sought-after digital marketers in Ghana who is currently the social media manager of YEN.com.gh but his life has never been a bed of roses.
From a poor village boy an to an unemployed young man who ventured into farming, Ed, as he is affectionately called, has risen with self-determination from the doldrums of inadequacy and poverty to the enviable position of a digital media guru.
The 27-year-old gentleman at a point in life was unemployed for two years and that forced him back to his village Dwatrim-Asesewa in the Eastern Region where he hopelessly decided to venture into small scale farming to get by.
Having had his primary education at the Dawatrim-Asesewa R/Basic School Edward Asare proceeded to the DeYoungsters International School for his Junior High School education. He later got admission to study Business at the Accra Academy where upon completion in 2012 continued to the University of Ghana where he studied Economics and Information Studies.
But that did not immediately secure his employment as he had to live his two years after National Service as an unemployed young man who was left with no option than to return to the village to farm.
However, with so much determination to succeed, Edward Asare fell in love with social media and everything that has to do with Digital Marketing and the rest they say is history.
At 2020 YEA, Edward Asare was nominated for the Blogger of the Year and Digital Marketer of the Year categories. In the end, he was named the Digital Marketer of the year at the award ceremony.
His story is a clear case of having the resolve to see yourself at the top and not allowing circumstances to determine the overall outcome of your life. Be inspired.
