FIFA praises Kwadwo Asamoah for his incredible assist to Gyan in 2014 World Cup

FIFA has praised former Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah on Twitter for providing an incredible assist to Asamoah Gyan during the 2014 World Cup’s 2-1 loss to Portugal in the competition’s final Group G encounter.

On FIFA’s official Twitter account, a video of the assist was posted, and fans of the game eagerly watched and gushed over it fraught with warm comments.

With his assist, Asamoah displayed his superb technical ability and vision, which was a brilliant idea. The well-timed pass allowed Gyan to enter with ease.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal in the 80th minute helped Ghana lose 2-1 in the end. Ghana, which had earlier lost to the US and drawn 2-2 with Germany, was eliminated from the competition as a result of the defeat.

Kwadwo Asamoah started his professional career in 2008 with Udinese of Italy. However, injuries in his later seasons limited his time at the club. In 2018 he joined Inter Milan, and then in 2021, he joined Cagliari. Asamoah competed for Ghana at four FIFA World Cups and two Africa Cup of Nations competitions.
