Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has sent what can be described as a humble message to President Akufo-Addo following the #FixTheCountry uprising.
For the past one week, social media has been awashed with posts by disgruntled Ghanaians who believe the systems in the country are not working which culminated in untoward hardship.
These individuals and groups have heaved hot coals on the head of government to fix the country: provide stable and reliable electricity and water, fix the deplorable works, provide jobs and transform the economy.
They also ask the government to reduce taxes and desist from borrowing excessively and fulfil their promises. Meanwhile, some Ghanaians believe that nothing can be fixed until the attitudes of the citizenry are fixed.
This analogy has been propounded by some government officials also which former President Kufuor believes it is much ado about nothing.
In a tweet directed to President Akufo-Addo and all those countering the #FixTheCountry campaign, President Kufour said all must acknowledge that “unless you transform the lives of ordinary people, you cannot hope to transform Africa.”
Unless you transform the lives of ordinary people, you cannot hope to transform Africa.
