GHANASoccernet.com has learned exclusively that former AshantiGold SC striker Emmanuel Baffour is in serious condition after suffering severe injuries in a vehicle accident in Maryland, USA.
Baffour had just finished his night shift at work when the accident took place.
Earlier this week, at about 6:30 a.m. on a Wednesday, the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) was called to the scene of an accident near the intersection of Briggs Chaney Road and Great Oak Lane in Cloverly.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS, three people were transferred to the hospital, one adult [Baffour] with Priority 1 trauma (life-threatening) and two with Priority 3 trauma.
Baffour became stuck inside his grey Nissan Sentra and needed to be rescued. The accident’s cause is still being looked into.
To say that Baffour was a key player for New Edubiase in the 2012 Ghana Premier League is an understatement.
Edubiase finished 8th in the league, and their 33-year-old striker was the team’s leading scorer with 21 goals.
In 2012, he played in only one game for the Ghana Black Stars.
