Former MUSIGA President Obour Fails To Win Akyem South Seat In NPP Primaries

It’s now official that musician and former Musiga president Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour has lost in the NPP primaries in the race for the Asante Akyem South Seat in the Ashanti Region, Ghbase.com can state authoritatively.

There were earlier reports on some websites that he had won but that report was false as he couldn’t beat the incumbent MP Kwaku Asante Boateng who had 360 votes from the delegates with Obour getting 296 votes, placing him second with other aspirants, William Yamoah getting 32, Edmond Oppong Peprah 9, and Eric Amota 8 votes only.

Obour had faced negative feedback from some colleague musicians after he had announced his intention to become a parliamentarian, mainly over reasons that he allegedly embezzled funds during his time at Musiga.

His loss seems to have made some people very happy on Social media, Ghbase.com has observed but we believe its the end of the road on his political journey.
