It must be a very tough time for close friends, families of the former vice president, Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur. The former president is reported to have died at the 37 Military hospital after collapsing at the Air Force Gym and was rushed to the hospital.
The former president John Dramani Mahama is shocked just like several Ghanaians but in this case, he is more shocked and saddened to learn about the death of the man who was his former vice president and friend.
Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur was his vice president from 6 August 2012 until 7 January 2017, when they handed over the country to Nana Akuffo Addo after losing out in the 2016 General elections.
The former president, John Dramani Mahama in a Twitter post wrote;”Shocking! No! PK was only last Saturday actively involved in our party’s constituency elections in the Central Region. Very sad Friday!”
That tweet below:
Shocking!
No! PK was only last Saturday actively involved in our party’s constituency elections in the Central Region.

Yes, its very shocking because just as the former president tweeted, the late Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur just tweeted this a week ago after the party’s constituency elections in the Central region.
You made it peaceful and great as always. Thanks for playing your part in Saturday’s constituency elections. Congratulations to all; you are all winners. Let’s continue to focus on invigorating our party. We can do it! pic.twitter.com/CGy41A4hqb
