Gabby Otchere-Darko advises Mahama to concede defeat but receives harsh replies from NDC supporters

Lawyer Gabby Otchere-Darko, a close relative to the president and a staunch member of the governing NPP has advised embittered flagbearer of NDC, John Mahama to concede defeat.

According to the defacto ‘Prime Minister,’ the decision by the former President to refuse to concede defeat to President Akufo-Addo and resort to the inciting of party supporters to demonstrate is a nuisance to Ghana’s peace and democracy.

In a tweet, Gabby Otchere-Darko advised Mahama to either go to court if he has evidence to support the assertion that the jut-ended election was rigged or forever hold his peace.

“Dear John, If you know you don’t have the evidence to go to court please concede now. Stop deceiving your supporters before any gross harm is done. You know it! The real contestation is on parliamentaries. Both NPP and NDC believe they have cause to challenge a few declared seats,” he wrote.

But this somewhat harmless advice was not left unattended to by some supporters of the NDC who think Gabby Otchere-Darko has no right to advise Mahama to seek legal redress or concede defeat especially when Sammy Gyamfi has said their decision to go to court or not is based on the sentiments from the public.

Their views were communicated harshly and without reservations to Gabby Otchere-Darko. Read some of these replies below.

@Zillorny wrote: Before today you came out emphatically that your NPP has won majority in Parliament…… I believe 137 is the majority you were talking about? As to whether @JDMahama has evidence or not… You can go to court to compel him to concede….. Agyapa scandal will be investigated.

@AdamBasit wrote: Prime minister of the republic the president Mahama is even more credible than president elect. You cannot even have the wisdom to listen to his grievances. Ignore him and your govt that will suffer consequences
