Ghana Election 2020: Asawase MP Mubarak Muntaka causes a stir after allowing his daughter to thumbprint the ballot [Video]

Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase in the Ashanti Region Hon. Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka caused a stir after allowing his daughter to thumbprint his ballot for him when he visited the polling centre earlier today.

According to the video footage available to us via Citi TV, the incumbent MP on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was seen walking to the voting booth with his daughter.

Afterwards, he held his daughter’s hand, dipped it into the ink and thumbprint his ballot with it. In other words, Mubarak Muntaka allowed his daughter to cast the vote on his behalf.

Although it is not stipulated in the constitution as an offence, it has raised some eyebrows as people can not understand why he will allow someone who is below age 18 and unqualified for voting to vote for him in his presence.
