Former UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr Jon Benjamin has asked the popular question as to whether anybody is in a ‘comfortable lead’ yet as far as Ghana’s election is concerned.
This comment of his comes on the back of the popular assuring words of Koku Anyidoho of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who, in 2016, said his party was in a ‘comfortable lead’ long before the declaration of results.
However, they thought they were in a comfortable lead until the EC declared then-candidate Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as winners of the 2016 election.
Following that, Jon Benjamin is mischievously asking who it is that is in the ‘comfortable lead’. If there is anybody at all.
Counting and collation of ballots have begun already in several constituencies across Ghana where politicians and their supporters are waiting with bated breath as to who emerges the victor.
Is anybody in a comfortable lead yet?
