According to Asempa FM sports, the Ghana Football Association is interested in hiring former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel as the next Black Stars coach.

The German coach is out of work after being fired by English Premier League powerhouse Chelsea earlier this season for poor performance.

Tuchel, who formerly managed French Ligue 1 powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain, is a top target for the Ghana Football Association.

According to sources, the Ghana FA has nominated the former Chelsea coach for the vacant Black Stars coaching position left vacant by Otto Addo’s retirement after the World Cup.

Ghana FA wants him to take over because they feel he is the best guy for the job with the Black Stars.

Uruguay’s 2-0 triumph over Ghana in their Group H finale stopped the Black Stars from exacting retribution for their quarter-final defeat at the 2010 World Cup, but this exciting success for La Celeste at the 2022 edition came at a high cost.

South Korea’s 2-1 win against Portugal in the comparable group stage decider allowed them to overtake both Uruguay and Ghana late in the game, ensuring that they would advance to the last 16 and send both of these teams home despite Uruguay’s victory.

The build-up to the match had been overshadowed by Luis Suarez’s handball at the conclusion of extra time in their quarterfinal meeting in 2010.

Asamoah Gyan’s error was catastrophic for Ghana 12 years ago, but captain Andre Ayew, the sole surviving member of the 2010 team, was unable to revenge it.
