“Ghana is becoming scary” – #FixTheCountry originator cries; Ghanaians join in

The popular #FixTheCountry has come into the conversation once again following the reported cases of insecurity in the country.

Joshua Boye-Doe aka Kalyjay believes the nation is not as secured as it used to be. According to him, the country is gradually moving away from a place to live to a place to struggle to survive.

This assertion from the young activist comes on the back of the recent killing of a young policeman and a pregnant woman at Korle Bu when armed robbers attacked and robbed a makeshift bullion van transporting money.

The bravado of the armed robbers and how they were emboldened to stage robbery in broad daylight and in the full glare of the public really explain the volatile nature of Ghana’s security.

Kalyjay, just like many Ghanaians have raised serious concerns in their #FixTheCountry campaign demanding better governance exemplified in the resourcing our security apparatus in order to be in the right condition to fight crime.

When crime takes a sophisticated turn, can we trust them to fight it? If they are not able to survive it, will the citizens have any chance?

That is the genuine concerns of many Ghanaians who are crying just like Kalyjay over the growing number of crime…while the police have been rendered helpless through many years of political interference and lack of proper equipping.
