The Ghana Police have confirmed the arrest of a man who was captured brandishing a gun and assaulting a motorist in a viral video.
In the viral video, the man clad in black trousers and a white shirt is seen with a gun in his hands as he exchanged words with another motorist who had confronted him for driving carelessly.
The confrontations continued until other road users stepped in to calm the situation.
Netizens shared the video on various social media platforms and called for the arrest of the man who brandished the gun as it is against the laws of the country.
In the latest development, the Police have confirmed his arrest, retrieved his gun, and assured the public that the details of the incident and arrest will be communicated soon.
“Perceived gunman arrested. Reference the above, the person involved in attacking the motorist has been arrested and the weapon retrieved. Full details will follow soon,” the statement in the official Facebook account read.
