Ghana Police launch manhunt for man who fired AK 47 at A&C Mall to welcome 2022 [Watch]

A yet-to-be-identified man who fired shots in public on 31st night at A&C Mall has been placed on Police wanted list for unlawfully discharging a firearm in public.

In a video that has circulated on social media for days now, the young unidentified man is seen firing an AK47 gun into the air as he celebrated entering the new year.

According to a statement by the police, it’s an offence to discharge a firearm in public “without lawful and necessary occasion under Section 209 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).

The Police Administration after reviewing the video of the young man seen firing several shots of a firearm suspected to be AK 47 at ANC Mall, East Legon, last night, December 31, 2021, has placed an amount of Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵ 5,000.00) as a bounty for anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest to face prosecution.
