Former Chairman of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC), Dr Steve Manteaw, believes election 2020 is going to present Ghanaians with two options: an armed robber and a thief.
According to him these two metaphors stand for the two prominent parties, NPP and NDC, who since the birth of the fourth republic have been in the helm of affairs of the country but always failed to deliver.
Dr Manteaw stressed that both the NPP and NDC have used the least opportunity they’ve got to lead this nation to steal state resources to the detriment of Ghanaians.
He, in an interview on Adom FM, said these two parties have created, looted and shared the meagre resources of the country hence Ghanaians will be torn between choosing an armed robber or a thief come December 7.
In other words, the election 2020 will be present Ghanaians to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea.
Dr Manteaw chastised the Akufo-Addo-led administration of failing at the fight against corruption especially when they made a lot of noise about the canker in opposition but have done nothing to nip it in the bud.
Generally, Ghanaians have expressed some kind of lackadaisical tendency towards the upcoming elections. According to many, these two parties have not given Ghanaians value for the time spent in long queues to cast their votes but have rather used every opportunity they’ve got to enrich themselves and families.
