‘Ghanaians Only Love ‘Asokpor’ Music’- Joey B

Rapper Joey B of ‘Tonga’ fame has reinforced a widespread perception that music done in our current epoch are danceable tunes because that’s what Ghanaians love.

Joey B, born Darryl Paa Kwesi Bannerman told Lightville Magazine that music lovers now relate to tunes that will make them dance and forget their sorrows.

Here’s what he told the magazine during the interview:

“It’s not necessary to write about what you’ve been through, but sometimes doing that helps you connect with your fan base because someone might be going through same.

But let’s look at it this way: You need to do what people want. They just want to dance and have fun.”

His statement corroborates Shatta Wale’s comment he made some time ago to the effect that he altered his style of music because Ghanaians love to dance and that’s the only way he could also make his money.
