Ghanaians reacts to alleged failed coup with #CoupChallenge on social media (Photos)

The Minister for Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (MP) in a press release on Monday 23rd September revealed that three persons; Dr Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, Donya Kafui (a local weapon manufacturer) and Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu have been arrested for plotting to destabilize the country and overthrow the Nana Akufo-Addo led government.

The suspects, Dr Frederick Yao Mac-Palm, managing Director of Citadel Hospital, Mr Ezor Kafui, a local weapon manufacturer and Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu were arrested during a dawn operation last Friday at Alajo and another location at Kpone Bawleshie near Dodowa in Accra.

According to reports, the arrest was made after 15-month surveillance and gathering of evidence on the activities of the prime suspects.

Ghanaians on social media reacting to the alleged failed coup sparked a trend with #coupchallenge.

The challenge highlights the weapons found on the suspects which included ammunition and explosive devices.

Most of them believe that these allegations were just a diversionary tactic by the government to make Ghanaians forget the daily scandals that hit the media space.
