‘God Will Judge Pastors That Are Getting Fatter While Church Members Are Getting Lean’ – Nigerian Pastor Says

The issue of tithing has been an age long debate and it still continues to divide opinions in the Christendom. Supporters and opposers of the concept use Biblical facts to substantiate their argument yet we have not had any definitive consensus.

One Nigerian pastor, Tunde Bakare of Latter Rain Assembly has added a new dimension to the debate when he granted an interview with BBC Yoruba. The man of God said emphatically that tithing is not compulsory.

He reiterated that the practice is not mandated and people should feel free to practice what they choose to believe in.

He said:

There’s no gun pointed at anyone, mandating them to pay tithe. Anyone who believes in paying tithe should do so and whoever doesn’t can leave it. It’s not compulsory.

Every church where the pastors are getting fatter while the congregation is getting lean, God will judge them all.
