Good news to Gunna fans, he has been released! The rapper from Atlanta was let go from prison after admitting guilt to a charge of racketeering conspiracy in the Young Slime Life RICO case.
On Wednesday (Dec. 14), the “pushin P” hitmaker maintained his innocence while negotiating a plea deal known as an Alford plea because it was in his best interests.
Gunna received a five-year sentence with a one-year reduction for time already served. His remaining sentence of four years has been suspended, and he must perform 500 hours of community service.
“While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” the rapper said in the statement.
He added, “I love and cherish my association with YSL music, and always will. I look at this as an opportunity to give back to my community and educate young men and women that ‘gangs’ and violence only lead to destruction.”
Gunna claimed in a statement that when his rap career first took off in 2016, he did not view YSL as a gang. He only paid attention to the brand’s entertaining components.
