Gyaama Pensan SHTS demonstrates their newly developed evaporative cooler at the Northern Zone Renewable Energy Challenge

This year’s Northern Zone Renewable energy challenge had the greatest performance from Ampem Nananom students from Gyaama Pensan Senior High School/Technical School.

The school is located in Aboaso, Kwabre East District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The Zonal Renewable Energy Challenge showcased different innovative technologies produced locally by students in senior high school.

One school representation from eight regions took turns explaining realistic and hands-on solutions to Ghana’s energy challenges.

Gyaama Pensan Senior High Technical School, piloted by Christolove Molgo Arthur and Janet Ohemaa Nkansah, won the challenge with their plant microbial fuel cell technology.
