Contrary to the belief that hard work pays, Nigerian author and lawyer, Reno Omokri has said that it is only smart work that pays and not hard work.

According to him, hard work only kills, adding that people should not allow themselves to be fooled by the notion that hard work pays.

Reno Omokri opined that hard work makes a person age before their time, adding that if hard work is the only thing that pays, everyone would have been a labourer or truck pusher so that they will get rich.

For him, for an individual to get rich, you just need to get smarter.

In his thinking, the upper class is only deceiving people to work hard whiles they just sit somewhere and work smarter thereby getting richer as the lower class people get poorer though the work harder.

“Stop being deceived by the upper class. Hard work does not pay. It kills! It ages you before your time. If hard-work pays everyone will want to be a labourer or truck pusher. Only one thing pays. SMART WORK. Get smarter and you will get richer,” Omokri admonished in a tweet.
