Gospel musician, Nacee has expressed his frustration on why why Ghanaians did not accept Kwabena Kwabena’s hit song Bue Kwan as a gospel song.
According to him, Ghanaians have the perception that gospel songs should only be produced by gospel artistes and not secular musicians.
Nacee opined that US music legend, R Kelly has produced several gospel songs which are sung in Ghanaian churches without anyone questioning his status as a secular musician and yet we being hypothetical here.
Nacee spoke on Hitz FM Daybreak Hit and said:
The same people who rejected Kwabena Kwabena’s gospel song accept R Kelly in our churches.
R Kelly has done many awkward things that Kwabena Kwabena hasn’t yet he sang the ‘Storm is Over, ‘You Saved Me’, songs that were remixed by T D Jakes.
Is it because it’s coming from outside so we have to accept it?
