The anticipated departure of Victor Osimhen from Napoli has been officially acknowledged by the club’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis.
Osimhen’s performances have attracted attention from several top European clubs, with negotiations over a potential move expected to be fierce in the upcoming transfer window.
Despite signing a new contract with Napoli just last month, the inclusion of a reported £112 million release clause has paved the way for Osimhen’s potential exit.
De Laurentiis confirmed the striker’s departure, stating, “This [Osimhen’s exit] was already known since this summer, our negotiations [over the new contract] were friendly, otherwise, it would not have been so long.”
The Napoli president also hinted at the possible destinations for Osimhen, indicating that the Nigerian striker could be headed to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), or a top English club.
The confirmation of Osimhen’s departure has fueled speculation about the next chapter in his career, with fans eagerly awaiting updates on the striker’s future destination.
Recall that in an interview with CBS Sports earlier this week, Oshimen stated;
“I have already made my decision on the next step to do at the end of the season. I already made up my mind. I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take.”
