Here Are Five Smart Ways To Stay On Top Of Your Game This Year

​It is the 3rd day in the year 2022 and you may already have some roles and plans lined up for 2022. Or you may be planning to get serious about your job hunt as we welcome it in the new year. But when you do land your next big role, it’s important to head into it with a plan. Goal setting is crucial to make sure you get the most from a new experience and to ensure your career and your life continues to move forward.

Did you know that setting your own smaller goals for the onboarding process can help you achieve that overall objective more effectively? And building these goals into your overall plan for 2022 can give you a stronger purpose throughout the year?

Anyway, if you spend some time thinking about what you want to get out of the onboarding process and setting goals to that effect, you’re more likely to retain more information and get answers to all the questions you might otherwise have to ask later.
While you can always set your own goals, here are a few tips to help you get started.

1. Set SPECIFIC goals and not general goals: Example of a general goal is to exercise more, eat healthy, pay off all debts, become a better cook etc. These are all general goals and you need to set specific goals.

Example of specific goals is deciding to walk 2km three times a week, taking lemon water and smoothies for breakfast, enrolling in a cooking class or watching recipes online and trying them at home. These will help you achieve your goals a lot faster.

2. Don’t rely on your memory: Make it a point to write down all the things you plan to do so that it becomes a reminder for you. This will also help you organise your thoughts better release your mind from the stress of trying to remember everything.

3. Set daily priorities: After writing your to do list, Identify 2/3 items that are your top priorities for the day. This will save you from spending time on less important tasks while the most important once go undone and it also makes your to do lists more achievable.

4. Accomplish the most challenging tasks on your list first: Make sure you begin with your most difficult task. Assuming you want to lose a certain amount of weight in two months time. Start by exercising and eating healthy foods. Losing weight doesn’t come easy for most people and it takes consistency and discipline to stick to a routine. Keeping the weight off is the most difficult part of the journey. So start with it and keep in mind that the journey will be difficult but instead of worrying about the journey, focus on the outcome.


5. Now all these goals are the physical aspect of achieving it. But the most important thing is to pray before you start. Praying will give you enough strength to withstand the obstacles that may come your way.
