Hot Audio: NAM1 sponsored Akufo Addo-led government with Menzgold cash – President of Aggrieved customers reveals

The issues of Menzgold has skyrocketed to a stage where aggrieved customers now take matters into their own hands with the intent that the government and the man behind the embattled gold firm are not doing enough to facilitate the payment of their locked up cash.

On January 8, 2019, reports emerged that aggrieved customers of Menzgold mostly residents from Tarkwa, Kumasi and Accra besieged the residence of Nana Appiah Mensah to demand their locked up cash.

From the reports received, over 80 of the aggrieved customers who stormed NAM1’s residence with placards were arrested by the police for besieging the CEO’s residence and attempting to gain entry unlawfully.

They were charged and granted bail later in the evening but there’s been a new development to the Menzgold brouhaha.

According to the President of the Coalition of aggrieved Menzgold customers, Timothy Binab, news that payments have been made to 200 customers is not true adding that NAM1 once told them some of their locked up cash were used to sponsor the Nana Addo-led government.

Explaining his claim in an interview with Boamah Darko on Accra-based Hot 93.9FM, Timothy Binab alleged that NAM1 once told them he used part of their locked-up investment to sponsor the Akufo Addo-led government though he failed to reveal the exact amount he used in sponsoring the government to them.

“Nana Appiah Mensah has told us many things….Yes, he told us he once sponsored the government with our locked-up cash and most of the bigwigs in the government are also owing him but never told us the exact amount he used,” Mr Binab told Boamah Darko.
