A pastor identified as Mayomi Ogedengbe was kidnapped on Monday in his church in Irese, a community close to Akure.
The kidnappers are said to have stormed the church in a black gyre sports vehicle and abducted the clergyman to an unknown location.
The head pastor of Deeper Christian Life Ministry’s location remained unknown since he was whisked from the church.
In a video, one suspect who seems to have been arrested narrated how a church member informed them to kidnap the pastor and they’re said to have been successful in focusing their efforts on the pastor’s family to gain his release.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Police command, Tee-Leo Ikoro verified the news to channels TV adding that the State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Sausage has ordered for the pastor’s swift rescue effort.
