His father’s name was Prince Andrews of Greece and Denmark, also a son of King George I. His mother was also called Princess Alice. According to reliable sources, Prince Williams died of ‘Old Age‘ a few months to his 100th birthday. Prince Williams was the longest-serving royal consort in history. When Elizabeth described her husband’s death as ‘having left a huge void in her kife6’.

Prince Williams was reported dead in the morning at Windsor Castle on 9th April, 2021. After his death, his funeral arrangements were held at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on 17th April . Due to the presence of this pandemic, COVID-19, only 30 members of the royal families were allowed to sit for the ceremony with social distancing and masks worn by all of them. Prince Williams died at the age of 99.



Prince Williams attended Gordonstoun School which was near Elgin, Moray, Scotland and also at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, Devon in England. Prince Williams served with the Royal Navy in battle in the Mediterranean and the Pacific Ocean respectively.

When Prince Williams was just 18, he met Princess Elizabeth, who was later called Queen Elizabeth. She was just 13 years at that time. Queen Elizabeth was his 2nd cousin if taken out from their descent from King Christian IX of Denmark and 4th cousin if taken out from their descent from King George III.

Queen Elizabeth and Prince Williams became love birds but King George VI, her father, did not consent to the relationship. He didn’t wasn’t his daughtr to get married to Prince Charles. Just before the engagement takes over, King George announced his heredi6royal title and took the surname of his uncle Louis Mountbatten.

Prince Williams and his lover, Queen Elizabeth git engaged in the year 1947 and finally tied the knot on 20th November, 1947 within the same year. Before the marriage ceremony, Prince Williams was made Royal Highness of Duke of Edinburgh but was not awarded with the ‘Prince’ until the year 1957.

Prince Williams and Queen Elizabeth welcomed their first child, Charles Philip Arthur George in 1948. Followed by Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise in 1950, Andrew Albert Christian Edward in 1960 and finally, Edward Anthony Richard Louis in the year 1964.
