How newly purchased government ambulance van has been converted into a cement loading vehicle [Video]

One of the newly purchased ambulance vans the government of Ghana distributed to various districts have been converted into a cement loading vehicle.

The actual purpose of the van which is to serve as a point of call in times of emergency has been relegated as a secret video gives an account of how the vehicle is now serving the cement loading needs of a few.

Per UTV footage, this ambulance van had been packed and some men have been employed to load cement into the vehicle. The load of the cement had clearly put the vehicle under severe duress as it has tilted a bit in order to sustain the load.

The journalist who did the secret filming was unable to ascertain the district that bears ownership of the said ambulance van but indicated that the van was seen at Buduburam near Kasoa in the Central Region.

For safety reason, the journalist had to film the entire scene from a secluded area to avoid being seen and subjected to intimidation or perhaps the footage seized or destroyed.

The Government of Ghana fulfilled its promise by distributing over 200 Mercedes Benz ambulance vans to all the districts in the country. Therefore, it beats the mind that such an essential public property could be reduced to a cement loading vehicle to serve the interest of somebody or a group.
