Hushpuppi transfered to Carlifonia for trial

Nigeria’s Hushpuppi who was arrested in Dubai weeks ago for alleged fraud has been transferred to California from Chicago for his trial to begin even he hired top Chicago lawyer, Gal Pissetzky as his lawyer.

Hushpuppi who was extradited to the USA from Dubai is been charged with defrauding more than a million people and engaging in Business email compromise frauds and other scams.

Last week, Ghbase.com reported that he had been denied bail despite his lawyer telling the judge that, Hushpuppi is loved and respected and wouldn’t have any reason to run away if granted bail. The judge denied him bail by accepting the position of the prosecutors, who said, he was a dangerous person and would commit more crimes with just a smartphone and internet if given bail.

Justice Gilbert who presided over his case in Chicago had said;

“Accordingly, Defendant is ordered removed to the Central District of California in the custody of the U.S. Marshal forthwith. As provided by 18 U.S.C. § 3142(f), Defendant is remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal and shall remain in custody until further order of the Court.”

Hushpuppi was moved to California on Tuesday, July 14, as confirmed by transfer documents signed by Thomas G. Bruton, the Clerk of the U.S Court in Chicago.

After he was transferred he has now settled for a government lawyer, reports also say.
