Speaking to Mugabe Maase on Power 97.9 FM’s Inside Politics, Mr Dumelo underscored the fact that he had made himself available to the people of the constituency as well as the delegates who have assured him of their votes on Saturday, 24th August 2019.

“I am expecting about 70 to 80 per cent of votes from the delegates. I know they will vote for me,” he said and stressed he’s not afraid of the delegates.

Dumelo has vowed to unseat the current MP, Madam Lydia Seyram Alhasan when he is elected to represent the party in 2020.

He says the NPP government has failed the residents in the constituency.

He bemoaned the lack of jobs for the youth in the area despite hosting many multinational companies and pledged to work with various institutions to create enabling environment for the youth to get jobs.

Criticising the government for neglecting the sanitation and security challenges in the area, the Dumelo, who is also an entrepreneur, hinted his team had listed various viable ways of tackling the challenges.

This is not the first time the popular Ghallywood actor has attempted contesting the seat.

After showing his face as an NDC member prior to the 2016 general elections, Dumelo showed interest in contesting the seat after it became vacant following the death of then MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

He later pulled out of the race for Delali Brempong.

Dumelo is a successful farmer and a married man.

He has also hinted he will not immediately quit acting, rather, when he is voted to Parliament, he’ll focus on parliamentary work and his constituents.
