Orji Uzor Kalu, the former Governor of Abia State, Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007 has said that he is happy he went to prison and has come back.

According to him, going to prison has made him a refined, better and more forward looking man as he has discovered many things he didn’t know could happen.
Orji Uzor Kalu is the chairman of SLOK Holding and the Daily Sun and New Telegraph newspapers in Nigeria.
He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment on corruption charges but was released from Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja in June 2020, after the Federal High Court in Lagos presided by Justice Muhammed Liman ordered his release, following a Supreme Court judgment nullifying his trial and conviction.
Senator Orji revealed this during a thanksgiving session at the Love World Incorporated, otherwise known as Christ Embassy.
“I am happy that I went to prison. I went to prison and I am out. I am happy because, going to prison has made me a refined, better and more forward looking man. I went to prison and discovered many secrets that I never believed that could happen,” he said.
