Simi has reacted to the release of Nigerian singers Tems and Omah Lay who were arrested in Uganda after they headlined a concert in the country.
Ugandan police claim the duo violated Covid-19 protocol and were detained in the cell since Sunday, December 13, 2020.
The issue has generated a lot of debate on social media as other Nigerian musicians rally for the Nigerian government to intervene. This was after Omah tweeted that he was being treated like a criminal after which photos of him being handcuffed with Tems surfaced online.
Fortunately, the pressure mounted on the Ugandan government has yielded results as the two entertainers were finally released, a development confirmed by Mr.Eazi in an earlier report we published. Simi also swiftly reacted immediately after their release by saying,
I hear Tems and Omah Lay are finally being released. I hope it’s true. I been thinking about them a lot since yesterday. Traumatizing experience in a foreign land…
