“I didn’t lie about my MoMo issue, I was just afraid of losing my money” – Salma Mumin explains [Video]

Actress Salma Mumin has explained why she came out to state that her money in her MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) wallet had gone missing.

According to her, she had two MoMo accounts: the regular account and the merchant account which she uses for her business transactions.

Speaking on the United Showbiz Show on UTV, Salma Mumin said all the transactions that went on on her merchant account was not checked especially when someone buys something from her and pays via MoMo.

She just reads the message and does not check the balance.

Fast forward, she wanted to make some payments to a delivery service only for her to be shocked that the transaction was not going through because she had insufficient funds.

According to Salma, she was shocked because she knew she had more than GHS10k in her merchant account thus could not understand why the transaction wasn’t going through.

That made her come out to say her money [over GHS10,000] has vanished from her MoMo account due to the shock and surprise she had.

Background:

Salma Mumin on October 22, 2020, made a post on her Instagram page where she accused MTN of stealing over GHS10k from her MoMo wallet. She also advised the public to be wary of the shady dealings of MTN and move away from using the MoMo service.

This statement had a response from MTN who said Salma Mumin’s claim of having more than GHS10k in her MoMo account was not factual. They even threatened to sue her for dragging their brand into disrepute.

Afterwards, Salma Mumin came back to render an apology and said she was clearly mistaken thus the post she made was not the true account of her MoMo wallet balance.
