I don’t mind taking 1ghc to extend my contract at Hearts of Oak – Sulley Muntari

Sulley Muntari, a Ghanaian icon, has said that he is willing to accept the bare minimum in order to remain at Hearts of Oak when his current contract ends.

In the second transfer window, the 37-year-old signed a short-term contract with the Phobians to play for them.

Muntari has established himself as a key player for the squad, making five appearances and contributing one goal and two assists so far this season.

The players were taken by surprise on Monday when the club’s Board Chairman and principal stakeholder, Togbe Afede XIV, paid them a visit at the training fields after their victory against Asante Kotoko in the 2022 President’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend.

A question about how much Muntari would charge the team and what should be done to ensure his continued presence at the club was raised during an interaction with the players.

But the winner of the Champions League and the English FA Cup responded by stating, “I will just charge the club one Ghanaian shilling.”

Muntari scored his first goal for the club on Wednesday against WAFA in a matchday encounter held at the Accra Sports Stadium, as the Academy Boys defeated the WAFA 2-1. It was Muntari’s first goal for the club.

Muntari will be looking to maintain his excellent form when the team travels to Aduana Stars on Sunday for the matchday 20 games.
