It may be easy to condemn modern music for such blatant repackaging when so many so-called artists don’t even write their own songs regardless you can’t blame them. While others write and record their own songs with great talent and developed skills, some only posses the requisite voice and personality to sing and therefore depend on others to record songs.
Similarly, born Adina Thembi Ndamse better known as Adina, Ghanaian-South African singer, has revealed in a recent interview with Sokoo Hemaa on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM that all her chart topping songs were written by professional song writers.
Adina who won 2008 Stars of the Future talent show asserted that she can write songs but for quality sake, she prefers the services of other professional song writers to do the work for her. She added that, although she contributes to the songs, the actual lyrical contents are done by hired people.
“I know I can write but I feel promotion is not a joke. You invest a lot of money so if I am putting any music out, I always want to put my best out there. I would write in the future but for now, I’ve just left it for the songwriters who get paid afterwards”, she said.
