Kwabena Agyei Aagyapong, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has lamented the present state of affairs in Ghana.
He said that individuals in the Akufo-Addo government are actively working to undermine both the nation and the NPP.
Mr. Agyapong expressed his concerns about the legitimacy of some of the President’s nominations in an interview with Kessben FM.
“I am starting to doubt that they are serving him and that they have the best interests of the nation at heart.”
And I’m starting to wonder whether they’re genuine NPP supporters. Because I believe that many of the important individuals surrounding him do not have this party’s best interests at heart, I would want to see their NPP cards, the dates on which they joined up, and the constituencies to which they belong.
“They are harming the nation and damaging the political party and it’s going to ruin the reputation of our NPP”, he stated.
Kwabena Agyapong has declared his candidacy for president of the NPP.
According to him, his ambition to head the party and seek for the president is grown out of a dedication to humanity, given the political values of the NPP.
His exact words were from an interview: “today, I want to make it plain. I want to submit my candidacy for the party’s presidential nomination as soon as the party opens the nomination process.
Former NPP flagbearer Kwabena Agyapong insists that his lengthy and devoted devotion to the party makes him qualified for the next duty, despite the fact that he has previously challenged the incumbent for the position.
You’ll feel the love of the young people for me and what I’m saying when the moment is right, but we can’t rush things just now because the party has rules and laws. He told Citi Tv, “They see, in me, the promise of our political heritage since I have worked under all the leadership of our party.”
The party has lost eight consecutive elections, but the former General Secretary says he is ready to use his extensive expertise to help the cause.
