Popular Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene believes the widespread news of the birth of his ‘daughter’ that flooded traditional and social media depicts how solidified his brand and appeal is across Ghana and the world.
He added that he was pleasantly surprised and shocked when after had he shared a photo of his niece’s daughter on Instagram, the news was flying left right and centre that the Rockstar was now a father.
Speaking to DJ Advicer on Happy FM, the ‘Turn Up’ hitmaker said although he expressed bewilderment at the news, it was a strong confirmation to the fact that he is very influential and all eyeballs are following every single step of his.
“After the outdooring, I went to sleep and woke up to so many missed calls so I decided not to call anyone and went on social media to find out what was going on and I was trending everywhere. People had misinterpreted my caption to mean I had given birth.
“People were mad I had not informed them I had given birth and named my child without even inviting them. Some were also suprised.”
Kuami Eugene said he was confronted by some celebrities and government officials who expressed shock and offered advice respectively as far as news of the birth of her daughter was concerned.
“After I had said Kimberly was my niece, I met Wendy Shay who also confronted me for giving birth and not informing her about the outdooring.
“A gov’t official whom I respect even called me to advice me on how to nurse my child
“The Kuami Eugene brand is powerful and I realised how influential I was after the news broke that I had given birth, he said.
Some few days ago, news broke that Kuami Eugene had welcomed a new baby girl after he shared a video of himself with a baby in his arms on Instagram. The musician came out to clarify the authenticity of the news and debunked the popular rumour.
Why does it have to take a rumour about the birth of a daughter for Kuami Eugene to start thinking of how great his brand is? Is the ignorance of himself sometimes the reason for his childish tendencies?
