“I was clearly mistaken” – Salma Mumin apologizes to MTN over MoMo fraud allegations

Actress Salma Mumin has rendered an apology to telecommunications network MTN over allegations that his Mobile Money account has been debited without her consent.

The actress made this allegation in an Instagram post dated October 22, 2020, where she alleged that workers of MTN have connived to steal her Ghc 10,000 from her MoMo account without her approval.

She made a very strong appeal to MTN to return her money or face the consequences.

 “@mtnghana I believe it’s your workers! It must be looked into. My money must be found!!!! ???????? ?? this is becoming unbecoming. You assure us of our monies being safe with you but it’s all lies. You people must pay our monies to us.

MTN also replied Salma Mumin on October 23, 2020, with the explanation that they are not aware of any unapproved transaction on her account thus what she is saying is not true. According to the network, the post was misleading and false because no money has been taken out of her account as she claims.

According to MTN, Salma was contacted and her issue was addressed which led to the deleting of the earlier post from her Instagram timeline.

Fast Forward, Salma Mumin has come out to say her allegation that some workers of the network may have withdrawn some money from her MoMo account was ‘as a result of misapprehension.

In an Instagram post dated 24, October 2020, the actress said she was clearly mistaken and has gone ahead to retract her earlier post and rendered an unqualified apology to MTN for causing reputation damage to their brand.
