“I will be f00lish to sell my players to Kotoko; I sold a player 5ghc to them years ago but they couldn’t pay” — Alhaji Grusah

King Faisal’s Alhaji Grusah, the football administrator and bankroller, has declared categorically that Kumasi Asante Kotoko lacks the finances to buy his players.

Rather than allow his player to join another Ghanaian team like Kotoko, Alhaji Grunsah believes it would be ‘foolish’ to allow the transfer when he could make more money by selling the player to Europe.

To participate in the CAF Champions League, he was questioned about selling his players to Kotoko in an interview with Abusua FM.

“Buying players from Kotoko seems like a crazy idea. While I am able to resell them for a profit in other countries. One who would make such a choice is either crazy or uncaring.

“A few years ago, I sold Opoku Afriyie to Kotoko for Ghc5, and to this day Kotoko has not paid. Because I was born in Kumasi, Ghana, I cannot be considered a peasant,” he said.

According to the club’s owner and banker, Kotoko was working against his team in the relegation battle.
