I Will Choose Doing Music Over Teaching- Mophty Says After Completing WINNEBA

Fast-rising upcoming Ghanaian musician, Mopthy has said that he will choose to be a musician over a teacher.

Mophty recently graduated from the University of Education, Winneba with with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.

The class the musician got is best known to him, however, he has said that he prefers to be a musician to being a teacher.

Under normal circumstances, most of the graduates from the University of Education, Winneba become teachers but Mopthy claims he cannot go to the classroom.

Mopthy claims going to the University was to have an alternative so that if the music failed, he would not be jobless but go to the classroom to teach.

“Going to the University of Education, Winneba was to combine my music career with tertiary education, and if, by the grace of God, I succeed with music, fine, if not then I’ll go into teaching. That was the initial idea that I had from the onset but through God’s divine grace I took the risk that whichever goes well that’s where I’ll follow”, he said.

After putting all things into consideration, Mophty has said that he would like to do music as a full-time job and shun going to the classroom to teach Mathematics.

“Right now going into the classroom to teach Mathematics will be very difficult for me looking at the challenging nature of doing music,” he said.

According to him, as a musician people expect great content from him, and combining teaching with music will not enable him to produce great content.

“People expect you to always do great songs which call for creativity so I can’t combine that with teaching because I’ve chosen to do music full-time after graduating”, he concluded.
