South Africa’s finest rapper, Nasty C has said he will draw the curtains down on his career as a musician when he makes a billion dollars.
In an exclusive interview, Nasty C said he is looking forward to bowing out of the music-making scene and refocus his attention on other endeavours.
According to him, if he is not able to make a billion dollars and turns 35, he will consider quitting.
“I can’t tell you but I have it all figured out. I am going to go to this place that I love, it’s so left, nobody would actually just move there or even retire there, but I am going to retire there.
“I am open about it, a billion, I want to say dollars. God forbid it doesn’t happen.
“At 35 I drop all this sh** and I start focusing on something else. So if I am not a billionaire at 35, hopefully, I am in a 100s, in dollars.”
Nasty C added that he is at a point in his music career where he has seen it all and does not need to prove anything to anyone. This, he said, has affected the vim and vigour he has for the work.
“I got over that whole ‘who killed who’ on a song thing like a long time ago … when I was still rapping to prove that I can rap … when it was just about that.
“My approach to music is very different now, so I don’t mind you saying so and so killed me on a song or whatever. I’m all about making people feel things”
Nasty C is arguably one of the finest rappers on the continent. He rubs shoulders with the likes of Khaligraph Jones, AKA, Falz, Cassper Nyovest, M.anifest, Sarkodie, Olamide et al.
With an estimated net worth of $2 million, Nasty C will be looking forward to hanging his boot when he finally becomes a billionaire or turns 35.
