Ghanaian female Disc Jockey, DJ Switch has replied critics who say she didn’t deserve to win Best DJ Of The Year at 2019 Ghana DJ Awards.
The 12-year-old DJ beat DJ Mic-Smith, DJ Vyrusky, DJ Sly, DJ Aroma and DJ Black to grasp the coveted award at the AICC and many have criticised her win saying she doesn’t deserve the award. She also won the Best Female DJ Award.
While others have criticised her, majority of Ghanaians say she deserves the awards since she has played a lot of high-profile shows than the competitors in her category.
Reacting to those who said she won the award because her manager Mercury Quaye is the organizer of the DJ Awards stated that Mercury Quaye is not necessarily her manager but rather a father and an adviser to all the DJ’s.
She further posited that she worked very hard for the award and winning last year’s Discovery DJ of the Year award gave her a motivation to push harder this year.
According to her, she also prayed to God to give her the Best DJ award 2019 and God answered the prayers
“The other nominees are Senior DJs but I think I got the award because of God. I prayed and talk to my God that I want the Best DJ of the Year and my God granted me the wish,” she said this in an interview with Zionfelix.
DJ Switch, born Erica Tandoh, came into the limelight after being crowned the winner of Talented Kids 2017.
