Ibadan, Nigeria: Man ends up in jail for stealing a pot of stew from a restaurant

A man from Nigeria has been hauled behind bars for stealing a pot of stew worth N40,000 from a restaurant.

He has been identified as Isaac Dumabara, 23. The Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan found him guilty on Wednesday and sentenced him according to a year in prison without an option of a fine.

According to Gazette, Police prosecutor Sikiru Ibrahim told the court that Mr Damubara also stole three gas cylinders, a stabiliser and a pair of Adidas shoes from Pleasure Summit Restaurant, Magara Road, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Mr Ibrahim further told the court that the convict stole a 42-inch TV worth N200,000.

Her suspicions were aroused when she visited him and saw he has put on blue lights denoting a sensual ambience.

Apparently, it was a prank designed by her man to see her reaction and she fell right for it as she started asking him a series of questions while searching for the other girl.

To consolidate his prank, the young man put a teddy bear under the bedsheet and lay with no clothes on, so she moved closer and removed the sheets to see that nothing was there.

She moved to the other room to check whether a girl was hiding, but when she saw no one else apart from his roommate, she became relaxed and jovially started hitting him.
