‘If Nana Akufo Addo Does Not Lift Ban, We Might Sack Our Workers’- Grace Assemblies of God Church

It’s obvious that the church is ‘bleeding’ since the outbreak of Covid-19. Pastors have openly confessed that their institutions have been the most affected since President Nana Akuffo placed a ban on a social gathering as tithes and offertories don’t ‘flow’ like it used to.

To this end, Prophet Kwame Donkor, leader of the Grace Assemblies of God Church, Kwadaso in Suhum warned that the church may be forced to lay off workers since there’s no money inflow to pay caretakers of the church and other expenses.

In an interview with TV3, Prophet Donkor said the church got a “paltry” GHC500 in tithes and donations from congregants since the imposition of ban on all social gatherings by President Akufo-Addo.

“From March up till now, when we look at our books, offering and tithes do not add up to GHC500. I’m afraid if this persists, we may have to lay off workers. The money we have now is what we used to take care of caretakers, light, and other expenditures,” he lamented.
