I’ll stabilize the economy soon – Akufo Addo promises

President Akufo-Addo has stated that the government’s policies will assist the economy recover faster than expected following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Recognizing the nation’s concerns, President Akufo-Addo remarked that the pandemic of Covid-19 has affected every country on the earth.

Inflationary pressures, skyrocketing fuel prices, unprecedented stock market volatility, and tighter global financing conditions are not unique to Ghana. “Global phenomena,” he remarked.

“However, Government continues to work hard to address these issues, and I am confident that our economy will soon recover from the ravages of the pandemic, bringing stability, development, progress, and prosperity for all Ghanaians.”

President Akufo-Addo remarked that the Ghanaian economy increased at a provisional 5.2 percent in the first three quarters of 2021, with GDP growth for 2021 anticipated at 5.6 percent, compared to 0.4 percent in 2020.

“We must take difficult but essential fiscal and other steps to maintain 2021 and higher growth rates in the next years, to develop and strengthen our economy, and to help enhance our collective living standards,” he continued.
