A man has been captured in a video celebrating wildly after Nigerian singer Wizkid missed out on two potential Grammy awards on Sunday evening.
Wizkid’s Essence and his album, Made In Lagos were both nominated in the Best Global Music Performance category and Best Global Music Album category respectively.
He however lost the Best Global Music Performance award to Arooj Aftab, while Angelique Kidjo, took home the Best Global Music Album award for Mother Nature.
The issue has meanwhile generated controversy on the internet as a lot of people think Starboy did so well in the year under review, especially with his global hit ‘Essence’ which even saw singer Justin Bieber jumping on it for the remix.
Meanwhile, this fan who pledged allegiance to Wizkid’s rival Davido, branded ‘Essence’ as nonsense and danced heartily as he claims he was over the moon after Wizkid failed to grab a single award at the prestigious award ceremony held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022.
