The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi has said the party risk losing the next general elections if he’s booted out of his current position in the party.

He warned that if delegates kick him out as chairman of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, the party will equally lose the 2024 polls. He issued the stern admonishing on Accra-based Neat FM.

He further bragged that he’s the Lionel Messi of the party and should he depart acrimoniously, it will gravely affect the ruling government just like it has happened to Barcolana since the mercurial player left for PDG in France.

“My exit from the region will be like Messi leaving Barcelona which has resulted in the dwindling fortunes of the team. Since the exit of Messi from Barcelona, the team has been lagging behind among its peers,” he argued.

“So my exit will affect the fortunes of the NPP in the region,” he added. He maintained that all the people lacing their boots to contest him, cannot do the job he has been doing for the party in the region.

“These are people who do not have the capacity to continue from where I’ll leave the party if the delegates take a decision to vote against me,” he concluded.
