Comic actor cum musician Kojo Nkansah Lilwin popularly known in the entertainment industry as Lilwin has disclosed that it will be difficult to remove insults from Kumawood movies.
According to Lilwin, insults are part of conflicts in movies everywhere in the world, and would therefore, be completely impossible to do away with them in Kumawood movies.
Kumawood movies have always received criticism for their use of vulgar languages which viewers think is unhealthy for their young audience.
Some critics and industry players have called for a system to reverse the trend before it gets out of hand, but nothing has been done so far.
Speaking on Hitz FM on Monday, Lilwin stated that some of the insults in Kumawood movies are “normal.”
“With insults it is very normal in Kumawood movies. Assuming I’m playing the role of a rich man from abroad and I am walking with fake dollars and the house where I stay is always full of conflict, insults such as fool, idiot is bound to be heard. People tend to laugh at a character saying idiot in an English-speaking movie but when it is translated in to our Twi, they find it offensive, which shouldn’t be so,” he indicated.
