Most recently, Serwaa Amihere of GHoNe television fame became the object of social media mockery when she posited that sports betting is becoming a national canker.

Most Ghanaians especially those on social media chastised her accordingly as to the critics, betting is a profitable venture as with just GH¢1, a lucky punter will see more cash to withdraw.

Although some backed Serwaa Amihere’s projection that sports betting should be managed perhaps by government. Nonetheless, it seems more people are happy with the introduction of sports betting in the country not excluding J. Derobie.

J. Derobie, who is the face of one of the sports betting companies in Ghana, told show host Prince Benjamin (Chauffeur PB) that: “Betting is good, betting is good. It has helped most of the youth, it has pushed some of them from stealing and all that”.

As a reminder, J. Derobie became popular when he auditioned for Mr Eazi’s emPawa 100 project. He passed the above-mentioned comment in the studios of Class91.3FM on last Friday.
